One of the fencelines after the flood. This is along the rivberbank where the horses were (before I moved them)!

Day 162 of 365

This morning was calm and fine. The water came well up over night but by daybreak the paddocks were mostly drained.
It was actually quite a 'clean' flood - not too much rubbish and debris but this floating - and now stuck -  tree has wrecked the fences in this area. This is where I usually walk down to the bridge most days.
Looking right from the previous photo. You can just see the TOPS of the willows that line the riverbank, well under water! We cant get over to check yet but think it went into the pumpshed - the grey shed you can see in the distance.
We did take the pump out in case it did get that high. Water in the pump is not a good idea!
See you tomorrow,
Raewyn.

Day 161 of 365

9 am - Look!! Puddles!! Haven't seen these for a while :-)
9.30am - Remember how low the river was the other day? It's started rising...
Time to move the horses to high ground...
That's right, boy, off you go, it's going to rain all day...
3.30pm - yes, it has rained all day. Photo taken a similar spot to the previous one. River has risen about 4 metres and now overlapping farmland.
7pm - we had to take the neighbour 4-Wheel-Driving across the farm to deliver her home as her driveway was flooded....it was dark but it looked like all our riverflats were well under water...the rain has now eased so it will be interesting to see what is happening tomorrow morning.

See you tomorrow,
Raewyn.

Day 160 of 365

Driving home from town, I had to be the Mad Lady stopping to take photos of all the seagulls having their afternoon meal in the Showgrounds land. It's been raining and I think all the worms were trying to enjoy a bit of fresh air.
Not for long.
See you tomorrow,
Raewyn.

Day 158 of 365

The fencers are finally here. They have made a good start but still have a long way to go!
Damage from the fire back in January.
The clay track is getting rather sticky, making it hard to transport the  posts, etc.
Hubby had to push the fencers and their bike + trailerload up this hill with his bike yesterday!
See you tomorrow,
Raewyn.
